FILM BIOS

Director/Producer - Aimee Madsen is currently an independent filmmaker and still photographer, who has worked in television and film production as a Camera Operator, Videographer, Producer, Director, Screenwriter and Editor. Aimee has worked on her current and first feature documentary film "Paolo Soleri: Beyond Form" for over three years. Aimee studied Cinematography in Arizona, making the natural transition into filmmaking in 2005 and formed her independent company Eye Am Films. Since then she has created short films, commercials, promo trailers, video vignettes and an award winning screenplay. Also, as an award winning Editorial Still Photographer, Aimee has over 20 years experience shooting stills for magazine and book publications, some of which include Native Peoples, Arizona Highways, Worth, Sunset, Outdoor Photographer, New Mexico Magazine, Phoenix Magazine, and Transitions Abroad. In addition, she has photographed for publisher NorthWord Press and internationally renowned image library Gamma Liaison.
Narrator - Peter Coyote is an accomplished actor in more than 100 films and an Emmy Award winning narrator for over 170 documentaries and 17 audiobooks. He is a distinguished writer who has penned his own memoir: “Sleeping Where I Fall” and contributed to other books and publications. Peter is a politically- engaged person who has championed a multitude of causes. Peter has made over 55 films for television and has performed in many European films for some of Europe and America's greatest directors including Barry Levinson (Sphere), Roman Polanski (Bitter Moon), Pedro Almodova (Kika), Steven Spielberg (E.T.),Walter Hill (Southern Comfort), Martin Ritt (Cross Creek), and Diane Kurys (A Man in Love). He has recently completed Random Hearts (starring Harrison Ford and Kristen Scott Thomas--his co- star from Bitter Moon--for Sidney Pollack). He played "Harvey Milk" in Execution of Justice for Cuban director, Leon Ichaso, and "Kurt Potter" in Steven Soderburg's Erin Brockovich, starring Julia Roberts and Albert Finney.
Co-Writer/Associate Producer - Roger Tomalty has worked closely with Soleri in both an architectural design and construction capacity since 1970. He studied architecture at Syracuse University and holds a Masters degree from Arizona State University in Physical Geography, with an emphasis on radiation-budget Climatology. Tomalty served as construction supervisor and site coordinator of the Arcosanti project in the 1970’s, has taught and lectured extensively on Soleri and the Arcosanti project in the United States, Europe and Asia and actively conducts workshops on earth casting techniques worldwide. A member of the Board of Trustees of the Cosanti Foundation, he oversees the Cosanti site in Scottsdale while working with Soleri to produce, exhibit and market custom bell assemblies. His primary interest is for the Cosanti Foundation and Arcosanti to continue to explore and demonstrate the interaction of the built and natural environments, in ways that integrate water conservation and flow energy resources with habitat.
